Wedding Drinks on a Budget

Everyone knows that if you’re going to cut back, the last thing you want to do is limit the food and drink, either in quality or quantity.  Wedding guests with a full stomach and a full glass will always have a good time.  However, in these credit crunch times, not everyone can afford to splash out on endlessly flowing champagne and a free bar, which is why we have come up with some great alternatives as well as money saving tips.

You can’t beat a colorful cocktail to get the party started.  But cocktails don’t need to have lots of ingredients - this costs a lot and takes time to prepare - time that you would no doubt prefer to be spending relaxing before your wedding.  o why not go for something simple yet stunning, like the Caribbean favourite rum and pineapple juice?  Orange juice and cranberry, cranberry juice and vodka or simply orange juice and lemonade are all great alternatives.

Champagne is synonymous with celebration, so its little wonder that it is still at the top of the wedding reception drinks list.  There are of course plenty of alternatives to champagne, but if you feel you can’t get married without it, shop around.  There are some great deals online, and supermarkets have been known to offer as much asa  50% discount.

Sparkling wines like Cava and Prosecco often perform better than some branded champagnes according to experts, so don’t automatically dismiss the alternatives.  If your venue are providing your drinks you may find that they offer opportunities to taste wine before you buy.  If you ask them to hide the labels you might just find that you’re surprised by what you actually prefer!
